Marea Al Fresco Dining is conceived as a showcase of Filipino craftsmanship expressed in a contemporary dining space. The project builds on the client’s vision of creating a distinct seaside restaurant that highlights culture through design while offering comfort and function. The architecture makes use of local materials—woven wall panels, bamboo ceilings, and hand-carved details—that provide texture and warmth. These are paired with modern furniture and structural clarity, producing a setting that balances tradition with present-day sensibilities.
The open-air layout situates guests directly within the coastal landscape. Wide eaves, elevated platforms, and panoramic openings frame the sea while encouraging natural ventilation. This spatial approach ensures that dining becomes both a cultural and environmental experience.
Marea stands as a dining destination that merges local artistry with practical design. It demonstrates how Filipino craft traditions can adapt to contemporary programs while maintaining their identity, producing a venue that is at once rooted in place and open to the world.
